The JustLiving Project addresses three basic needs:

  • LOW-INCOME FAMILIES ATTAIN A HOME
  • AT-RISK YOUTH DEVELOP LIFE-LONG SKILLS THROUGH DESIGNING AND BUILDING A HOME.
  • VOLUNTEERS AND NEW HOME OWNERS EXPERIENCE ONE ANOTHER’S HOPES AND DREAMS.

Bringing people together, allowing all to contribute from the resources of their lives, so others who struggle—struggle less.

Based on a volunteer format, JustLiving uses your strengths to build affordable housing. This housing will allow families, some for the first time in their families history, to become homeowners.

Home ownership means children who otherwise live in drafty buildings, with questionable plumbing and dubious sanitation no longer participate in the struggle of staying healthy. Instead, they become children who focus on school homework, playing, and being family.

Yet, Home Ownership on and off the reservation is very low. Your help is indispensable in creating community where the family is number one. By allowing your time, money, and professional capabilities to become working assets for others, new homes will be built and owned by people who otherwise could spend generations to obtain.

FINANCING

We have reached the goal of our first $100,000! Which means we are in the process of obtaining land and building our first home! Please work with us in raising the monies so we may build two homes every year!

Home construction is financed by us! We who believe the basics of life include fair, clean housing. Our donations and commitment will change the lives of our neighbor. Our goal is to raise $100,000 so we might have two families step foot into their own home each year. Once the capital is raised construction will begin. The great thing about this type of building is that when the home is built and sold, the money rolls over and is used again for the construction of the second, then the third…home.

VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers are the key to low-income housing. Material cost can be volatile and except for the times a donation occurs, must be paid in full. Labor is a different case and volunteers are the key! Hundreds of volunteers who come to the reservation each spring and summer will provide a community justice service to the poor by using their strength to construct homes.
