The Global Ministries program of the Northwest Region and the Pacific Northwest Conference is a reflection of our work to engage as a region in support of intentional acts of justice and mercy to those in need globally. Currently, we share in ministry with eight Global Mission Partners, missionaries engaged around the world who regularly share with us the experiences they are having and the ways in which we can support efforts to raise up those in need. Global Mission Partners are assigned with the national Global Ministries program, a common witness of the Division of Overseas Ministries, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and Wider Church Ministries, United Church of Christ.

In 1987, the Pacific Northwest Conference of the UCC voted a global partnership and "full communion" relationship with the BERLIN-BRANDENBUG WEST SYNOD that has carried on into the united synod of the East and West. Exchanges, both in person and of study documents, have focused on being in solidarity related to peace and justice issues, particularly arising from a 1982 joint study calling for overcoming “enemy images.” During the Cold War, our exchanges, which have included UCC and Disciples participants through the years, have addressed those issues in personal contacts, helping chip away at the wall. Since then we have followed economic dynamics of the reunification. As the relationship approaches 25 years, we are taking time for reflection, evaluation and looking to the future. http://www.globalministries.org/mee/partners/union-of-evangelical-churches.html
